Business innovation: when it creates competitive advantage and when it does not

How to separate initiatives that improve market position from those that only burn budget.

Not every innovation creates value. In SMEs, innovation without a strategic thesis often leads to fragmentation and unrecovered costs.

An initiative matters when it strengthens at least one of these: differentiation, margins, commercial speed, or operational resilience.

Before starting, define measurable objective, ownership and review timeline. Without those constraints, projects remain intention only.
